The Jersey with a knot is one of the first headwear items I owned, it's very versatile and comes in a wide range of different colours and patterns. I now have quite a few different ones, plain and patterned which I like to tie in different ways. You can see from the Hipheadwear website that there are many different ways to tie them which means you can get a lot of different looks from one headwear item.
One of the things I had been told was useful with the Jersey was that it is good for exercise and sport. Apart from a bit of swimming, I don't do as much exercise as I should but I had the opportunity recently to try it out as I went to a trampolining park with my husband for his birthday. If you haven't been to or heard of a trampolining park, it is essentially a large room set up with many trampolines all fitted together and up the walls with different activities and soft pits to jump around so it's a very physical activity as well as it being something that could be problematic for somebody who wears headwear/wigs with all the bouncing around and having your head against surfaces.
I decided to give the Jersey a go, not only based on the recommendation but because they always feel very secure. I actually ended up wearing the first one I bought purely because it went best with my outfit, it has quite a distinctive pattern but actually goes with a lot of the things I wear. It is an option to wear a headband with the Jersey but I decided against it on this occasion because I didn't feel like I needed it and I was happy with the way it was.
As soon as I'd started bouncing around I knew I'd made the right choice, throughout the session I didn't need to move or redo the Jersey as it didn't budge, I wasn't conscious the whole time that I was wearing it and went all out jumping around and giving the activities a go without worrying about it coming off.
One thing I hadn't considered that turned out to be a benefit was that with the aerobic exercise we were both quite sweaty but my Jersey was pretty much acting as a sweat band, I looked a lot less of a hot, sweaty mess that my husband because the Jersey was absorbing all the moisture (and I could just take it off and put it in the wash after). I since watched a video on how Alopecia can cause problems when exercising because of the lack of a barrier from not having eyebrows and eyelashes and having done the exercise I could completely understand where they were coming from but fortunately I hadn't had that problem so it was worth keeping in mind in case I fancied going without headwear that I am probably better off with it.
It's good to know that I have an option that is both pretty and practical.
